Looking for a kick-ass all female gym in London? These are the top places to break a sweat in the capital.
It’s no secret that working out can be intimidating AF for plenty of women – and, as a result, women-only gyms are out there attempting to be a safer place to exercise.
Isn’t it way more fun getting all hot and sweaty with your girlfriends and not worrying about ogling eyes? Yeah, we’d say so.
These are the very best women-only gyms in London where you can break a sweat in peace.
Women-Only Gyms in London
The Bridge
The Bridge is all about supporting women’s health and wellbeing. Right on Southwark Bridge Road, this ultra-modern and ridiculously well equipped gym is here to make a difference in women’s lives in London.
The lovely ladies at The Bridge have made a real effort to promote all-round wellbeing – we’re talking massages, treatments, personal training and incredible kick-ass classes.
Whether you want to pop in for a taster to see if this gym is for you, or commit to one of their long-term membership plans, The Bridge has got you covered.
StrongHer
Bethnal Green
With women-only strength training, HIIT and flexibility classes 7 days a week, Bethnal Green’s StrongHer has thought of it all.
StrongHer have built a real sense of community and believe that all women deserve to feel comfortable and supported no matter what.
Whether you’re a beginner or a die-hard-gym-goer, StrongHer will make you feel at home and ready to take anything on. They also have one of the best intro offers we’ve seen, with 6 classes for £25. It’s a no brainer.
Shapers Fitness
Multiple Locations
Shapers support the sisterhood and put the fun back into working out with a wide range of high-intensity classes for all levels of fitness.
Whether you’re looking to get involved in a weekly spin class, are retired and want to boost your movement, or are looking for a place to train hard (and play hard), this is the best women’s only gym London has to offer.
You can even opt for a detox weekend where fitness classes, meals and accommodation, and spa treatments are all included. Now THIS is a gym we can get on board with.
Feeling nervous? Take advantage of their free visit offering before you commit to a full membership.
Beattitude
Earlsfield
Earlsfield’s women-only fitness club covers a lot of ground – a gym, boxing and barre classes, as well as metabolic training (we’re not sure what it is either, but we’re told it’s epic).
The wonderful space also gives prenatal, postnatal and women going through the menopause different fitness plans to help them get the best out of the gym. It’s so often overlooked how hormones can affect women’s physical energy as well as what exercises they can and can’t do through pregnancy.
Tailored, effective and fun workouts right by Garratt park, Beattitude will inspire you, get positivity flowing through your veins and get you moving with more confidence than ever before. This might just be the best ladies only gym London has to offer.
Safari MMA
Multiple Locations
Whilst Safari MMA isn’t a gym with equipment, it’s still one of London’s best all-female places to exercise. This club offers a range of classes from Muay Thai, pilates to kickboxing and more traditional yoga classes.
It’s all about strengthening your body whilst practising self-defence and tuning into your mental straight as well as having a good time and making friends.
Learning self-defence is (sadly) an essential skill for women, yet so often overlooked. To feel safer in your body, to feel stronger and feel empowered, Safari MMA is here to guide you through the journey.
Fitness4Less
Multiple Locations
Fitness4less brings you two female-only locations, one in Cambridge Heath and one in Canning Town offering a wide range of different classes, far more than just the basics.
The wonderful thing about these gyms is that you do have the option to go to the mixed part of the gym. On top of that, Fitness4less is one of the most progressive budget gym chains. We love an affordable gym.
They have created a space that is accessible to all with female mental health in mind. The Ladies Only area is also incredibly well equipped and they’ll provide you with all the info to leave the self-consciousness at home.
Fitology Hub
Brockley
As Brockley’s first women’s only gym, Fitology Hub is all about feeling safe. They’ve created an environment where women feel safe enough to move with confidence to build resilience and strength.
If you opt for a membership, you’ll also be entitled to regular one-on-ones with a coach to check through anything that you might be unsure about – whether that’s about the bodies, nutrition or even if you just fancy a good old chat.
One of the best women-only gyms in south London (even though it’s not just a gym, it’s far more personable), this is for the women who need a little mental push and a whole lot of encouragement.
Kiss Gyms
Acton
Acton’s first 24 hour women’s-only gym really ticks all the boxes. You can train at Kiss at all times of the day, be solely around women and have access to both a gym and classes.
If you get a membership, free classes are included. We love this and are so bored of seeing classes as an extra to a membership (Soho House, we’re looking at you).
Oh, and it’s just a 5 minute walk from Acton train station – convenience at its best.
