Where to Go for the Best Korean Corn Dogs in London

A guide to the best Korean Corn Dogs in London – here’s where you can jump in on Korea’s hottest food trend.

Korean Corn Dogs… a hybrid food with origins in American carnival cooking that’s transplanted itself into the menus, hearts and social media accounts of a nation of hungry koreans.

That food trend is already getting into full swing in London with several solid options for anyone that’s curious. For us, the very mention of deep-fried battered cheese and sausage was all it took to get us excited.

Here’s our guide to the best Korean corn dogs London has to offer…

Best Korean Corn Dogs in London

Bunsik

Leicester Square

Bunsik

You’ve probably walked past Bunsik a bunch of times and cursed it without realising what you were slandering – your reason? The massive crowd that clogs up the pavement forcing you to run the gauntlet between getting chewed up in the mass of Korean exchange students or flipped over the bonnet of a car on Charing Cross Road.

That crowd is there for what’s got to be the popular Korean corn dog London has to offer: Bunsik’s potato and mozzarella corn dog.

This deep-fried stick of processed string cheese pebbledashed with potato cubes, breadcrumbs and slapped in a tray to be eaten gingerly, kerbside has stolen the hearts of corn dog fanatics. it’s not hard to see why.

Uh K-Dogs n Juicy

Camden

Camden Market’s answer to Korea’s favourite American snack comes in the form of a hole-in-the wall stand from Uh K-Dogs n Juicy. There’s an obvious question being begged here? Juicy what? Melons? Juices? Surely it’s not the dogs…

Said dogs come with a choice of halal turkey/veggie sausage or cheese or, a combo of both and an intriguing choice of batter flavours including Cheetos (Wotsits for us Brits), ramen, pickle and a less adventurous classic version for anyone tentatively breaking into the K-dog game.

Whatever you choose will likely come lathered in sauce and be a mess to eat, but be a flavour-packed snack to boot, and the only shout for corn dogs camden has to offer.

Korean Dinner Party

Soho

Korean corn dogs don’t always have to be eaten out of that long, slim box, at the side of a road or while trying to dodge the throngs of people at street-food markets. They can also be consumed at sit-down restaurants, and rather nice ones at that.

In our minds, a good contender for the best Korean hotdog London has, comes from Korean Dinner Party. It’s by no means the star of the show at this pop-music fueled drink-a-thon of a KBBQ restaurant, but the two dawgs on offer have got some bark with their bite.

You’ve got a choice between a classic 50/50 cheese/hotdog number, lathered in ketchup and mustard, or a pickle centre – literally a delicious battered pickle on a stick. You can’t go wrong with either.

Seoul Food

Holborn

Have you ever been round that little corner of Holborn on Theobald’s Road and Lamb’s Conduit Passage that seems to pop with an unusual amount of Korean restaurants?

If not, you should check it out. There’s some great places to eat there, including Seoul Food – a grab-and-go snack place with a mean k-dog on their menu.

Their corndogs have the two charming qualities of being cheap and hench – you can actually feel the weight of these things on the end of the stick when you pick them up. They’ll put you on for £2.10 and are regularly offered with a buy-one-get-one-half-price deal to sweeten you back in for round two.

Jijigo

Hackney

Another notable restaurant that turns out a mean corn dog is Hackney’s own Jijigo. The spot was opened up by two staunch Korean food lovers Sang Kim and Cindy Jung who use their own secret recipes to knock up a great menu of Korean classics – including some corn dogs.

The dogs here come as classic as you like, crispy batter dripping in sauce and stuffed with a choice of chicken or cheese (or both).

The price of £4.50 means they’re a little bit more costly at Jijigo than out of a hole-in-the-wall place but you will be enjoying some excellent Korean cooking alongside it.

Myungrang Hotdog

Angel

Munrang Hotdog is a household name in Korea, and a major presence on the corn dog scene world wide. This global giant has one outpost in London where you can go to try corn dogs at their most classic.

They do all the flavours you can get from the other spots in our guide but top it off with flavours like squid ink, cheddar cheese and bizarre combinations of all of the above. K dogs here can be bought in boxes of five if you’re really hungry, but let’s face it: things are always better shared with friends.

Note: At the time of writing (June 2023) Munrang is temporarily closed. No word on when they will open doors again. Keep an eye on Google/their website for more information.

Green Choy

Multiple Locations

Green Choy is a food-market success, popping up in many prized locations across London to turn out some tip-top Korean street food options to the hungry masses.

Their dogs come with a twist, and no we’re not referring to some fancy shape in the batter. We’re on about the fact all the ingredients they use come from ethically sound suppliers, meaning these dogs come guilt free – apart from that tiny twinge you get from pigging out on something you know is downright terrible for you.

But who cares about that when the corn dogs come this good…

Practical Tips for Exploring the Best Korean Corn Dogs in London

  • Korean corn dogs are a fast food – no doubt about it – but you may have to wait in line for some of these spots. This is basically social media famous food, and that comes with all the hoards of bloggers and fanatics the platforms generate. Treat it as part of the experience.
  • For a more luxury dog try Korean Dinner Party. For a sluttier, more down-to-earth dog, try Seoul Food.
  • Any of the restaurant options would be wise to book a table in advance, the rest you’ll be grabbing and walking with – most likely maintaining a balancing act between not dropping the dog and getting the perfect shot for the ‘gram.
