A Celebration of Graffiti: The World’s Largest Banksy Exhibition is Coming to London!

Calling all fans of street art legend Banksy, you’re not going to want to miss this brand new exhibition in London.

It’s time to get excited – The Art of Banksy is coming to London.

The exhibition, which has toured in more than 15 cities around the world, will take up residency on Regent Street from July 5th. And it’s bringing more than 110 pieces of original artwork by Banksy with it.

One reason that this exhibition is so exciting is that it illustrates the way in which art has the power to influence social and political change, as well as laying bare a number of social issues.

Here’s what to expect…

Who’s Banksy?

Banksy

Nobody knows. Love it or hate it, Banksy will not reveal their identity.

Nevertheless, if you recognise the name, but can’t quite think why, allow us to give you a mini run down on Banksy.

They’re a graffiti artist most famous for their conversation-starting murals that seemingly pop up out of nowhere, causing quite a fuss. Many of Banksy’s most famous works can be found in the capital – Bruton Street’s Falling Shopper and the abundance of funny-looking rats dotted around London.

But Banksy hasn’t just painted London’s streets; they have taken their fancy street art all around the globe, with iconic pieces in New York, Paris and beyond.

Alongside a handful of genius unseen pieces that Banksy has created for friends and family throughout the years, expect to peruse the likes of Girl With Balloon, Flower Thrower and Rude Copper.

The exhibition will also touch on Banksy’s controversial anti-Disneyland, Dismaland, The Walled Off Hotel in Bethlehem and his recent work to show support to Ukraine.

While Banksy is not behind the curation of the exhibition (though, they could be the bouncer on the door for all we know?!), his nearest and dearest pals will be spilling all.

Close associates of Banksy will be sharing how some of the world’s most iconic street art stunts were pulled. Though, these friends will also be keeping their identity a secret, which definitely puts the kibosh on our detective plans…
